Neuromuscular therapy is a system of massage techniques that were developed in the 1930's by Dr. Stanley Lief in England. It uses a holistic approach towards healing, emphasizing and stimulating the body's natural ability to heal itself. Neuromuscular therapy also enhances the function of joints and muscles, and accelerates the overall healing process by facilitating the release of endorphins.
Structural Integration (SI) is a type of bodywork that focuses on the connective tissue (or fascia), of the body. SI works to lengthen, stretch, and soften this tissue to restore postural balance, ease of movement, and facilitate a feeling of being more at home in your body. In short it helps to balance the muscles by releasing and strengthening them, thus creating more freedom in movement.
Many other techniques are incorporated into my work such as; positional release, trigger points, strain counter-strain, and myofascial release.
